Welcome to my Lifestyle Blog
A while ago my friends asked me to write down all the lifestyle, health and wellness stuff that I often talk about. That's logical as it gives me more beach time. Here it is. Enjoy!
Instead of posting status updates on fakebook, it's easier for me to post here all the good stuff that is happening. Old is an illusion. Live life now and enjoy!
From testimonials and personal experience we all have enough information to conclude that it is possible to design and live an extraordinay life. Together!
1st April
The only day of the year when people critically evaluate things on the Internet before accepting them as true.
It's bad luck to be superstitious.
Impermanence
Dear Friends, we always thought we already knew everything, but once again we were taught better. We have the opportunity to adapt our consciousness to the new state of knowledge. Because after knowledge comes awareness which may lead to wisdom. We can complete this task in our own way.
Nothing can stop what is coming now. We're entering a world where we move from religion to responsibility. Now we can learn to change our entire way of thinking, away from the old thought structures and into a great future.
Everything will change to an extent that we cannot yet assess. This will be very positive, because the dark shadows that have accompanied us so far will not find their way into the future. We can fully concentrate on the light and our being.
Everything has been said, everything has happened, we have already arrived in the new era. What we want to do now is to perceive and accept the new time.
To be conscious means to work incessantly on oneself. It's a process that never ends, but certainly moves into self understanding at some point and then is fun. With that in mind, have a beautiful transition into the future. We'll read and hear each other again in the new time.
Monk Chat
While in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I occasionally go to Wat Suan Dok, a beautiful Buddhist temple, some 600 years old. It is worth noting that Buddhism is a practice (like bicycle maintenance), not a religion, although some try to make it such. You can be skillful with your life, or unskillful. Up to you.
Suppose you have a bicycle or a motorbike. You can read the user guide and maintenance manual, or you just run off and ignore it which would be unskillful and may lead to breakdowns. This would be bad Karma, the concept of actions and consequences, not rewards and punishments.
Monk Chat is an opportunity for monks to practice their English while visitors learn about the teachings and wisdom of the Buddha. From the monks I learned about how to reduce suffering and stress by living in the here and now, and understanding a few facts of life. I now skip dinner, not breakfast. Makes me sleep better.
We suffer the memory of the past which is long gone, and worry about the future which isn't here yet, while missing out on the gift of life. That's why it is called the "present".
Nutrition as a Service
For over 40 years I've been involved in the health and nutrition business, learned a lot of useful methods and saw many fads come and go. It is not easy to find quality among all the other stuff that is being pushed on us. Constant testing, review and reassessment is required.
It is most important that nutrition becomes part of a wider health and fitness service. This involves finding the best products on the market, testing them, and only recommend them to clients and customers if the products pass muster and are good enough for own use.
A while ago I started on a new fitness and nutrition programme. Exercise involves mainly hill walking, swimming, and strenuous gardening (pulling brambles out of a sloping rock garden). It's only a start, but good nutrition plays an important part.
Facebook is Useless
Somehow I lost access to my Facebook account and I now longer have the older device; it's been upgraded.
So I got locked out just before I wanted to delete the account.
However, they let me change my password and sent an email confirmation,
but whenever I log in they send me this annoying message below.
Then, suddenly, they let me in again.
